EDDY CURRENT TESTING (ET)
Eddy current testing is based on inducing electromagnetic field in the tested material and receiving the information by means of probe and the eddy current defectoscope. The analysis of value of the electromagnetic field changes, amplitude, current and voltage phase shift enables to estimate precisely the condition of the tested material.Eddy current testing is used, among others, in the aviation industry, mechanical engineering industry, steel industry, during the heat exchangers examination and weld examination. This testing method of a surface character applies solely to identify the metal materials by penetrating the surface up to a depth of a few millimeters. The use of this testing method enables to detect the potential defective surfaces in the form of: cracks, erosion and corrosion damages, along with the identification of their dimensions.
