HARDNESS TESTING (HT)

Hardness Mesurement is a method regarded as invasive and depending on the selection of the testing technique it can be carried out either in a laboratory with a stationary appliance or in the field making use of portable dynamic hardness gauges. The measurement technique is simple. The specially designed device is pressed into the tested surface and the imprint is subjected to measurement. The hardness test results are expressed in various units (HV, HB, HRC, HL, HS, HRB) depending on the applied testing method. The measurements carried out with the use of the portable gauges have many advantages, primarily that of the device’s mobility which allows for tests done in the production plants, distant places with difficult access or to the structures which due to their volume are beyond the possibility of stationary equipment.
