ULTRASONIC TESTS PHASED ARRAY (PA)
The Phased Array (PA) method consists in applying ultrasonic multi-converter heads (mosaic). These heads differ from the standard heads in that they consist of many single transducers (10, 16, 32, 64, 128), each of which may independently generate and receive an ultrasonic wave, thanks to which it is possible to shape a wave beam, among others, to focus it on any depth of any examined element, or to tilt it by any angle. When using the Phased Array (PA) method, it is possible to test elements of complex shapes, to test welds, cracks, delamination, and to map corrosion.
