BUBBLE LEAK TESTING (LT)
Bubble testing method is based on the gas transmission from a body of higher pressure to the body of lower pressure. It is essential to establish a connection between those two bodies in order to enable the gas transmission process. Weld examination occurs in the atmospheric air, at the pressure generated in the chamber, commonly called “the vacuum box”, which is put on the examined section. Weld leak of a capillary character is the connection between the bodies of a different pressure. Due to the pressure difference, the air transmission, from the atmosphere to the chamber, occurs through the leakage in the joint covered by the foam solution. As a result, a bubble is formed, which enables to identify the leak source.Bubble testing method of joints may be applicable to the products, the welds of which must be tight in order to meet the basic condition of placing them into service.
